Yoga is therapeutic. The physical and psychological benefits of yoga are well documented and yoga has been shown to be effective for virtually every form of suffering experienced by human kind. Our society portrays yoga as physical postures, however yoga is much more expansive than this. In fact physical movements are only one of the eight aspects, or limbs, of yoga. Yoga is the practice of quieting the mind, soothing the body, and finding peace in the soul.
Every other month, we will bring you a 2 hour therapeutic virtual mini-retreat, devoted to offering healing to all beings and bodies in these tumultuous and uncertain times. Participants are invited to experience the healing benefits of yoga within a trauma informed and therapeutic, virtual setting. As your honored guide, Rebecca will offer breath work (pranayama), guided imagery (meditation), gentle yoga postures (asana), sayings or phrases to refocus an unsettled mind (mantra), yogic sleep (yoga nidra) and other techniques. This supported practice is devoted to helping any body, and any being, feel a little more peace in this world.
